No. Super 8 cameras don't capture audio, so your film is silent on camera. I pair it with licensed music instead of live sound. That means it won't capture your vows or speeches word for word the way a full digital wedding video would. Think of it as a cinematic highlight reel, not a documentary record of the ceremony.

Your final film runs about 3 to 5 minutes, depending on which package you book and how many rolls of film I shoot.

Film handles overcast days and most indoor lighting well. Very low light, like a dim reception after sunset, is more challenging for the format than it is for digital. Reach out and I can talk through your venue and timeline specifically.

There's no strict cutoff, but I recommend reaching out at least two months before your wedding date so I have plenty of time to plan and lock everything in. Popular dates fill up fast, so the earlier you reach out, the better.

That depends on your day. The Corner Slice (6 hours) usually covers ceremony through key reception moments. The House Special (8 hours) or The Whole Pie (10 hours) give more breathing room for getting-ready and a full reception. Get in touch and I can help you figure out what fits your timeline.

I stay unobtrusive. No big rig, no constant direction. Because film is expensive per second, I'm intentional about what I shoot rather than filming everything, which tends to mean less of a "camera in your face" feeling than a full digital video setup.

Not word for word. See the sound question above. What it does capture is the feeling of the day: the light, the room, the small in-between moments. Many couples pair a Super 8 film with full digital coverage (a photographer or a separate videographer) to get both.

Yes. If you have a specific song or a general vibe in mind, I'll work with it. If you don't, that's fine too, I'll pick something that fits your day. One thing to keep in mind: if you're planning on posting your film publicly online, copyright restrictions can affect which songs are usable there, so I'll factor that in together when picking music.

Yes. I'm used to working alongside photographers and other vendors on the day.

Film has to be processed and scanned after the wedding before I can edit, so delivery isn't instant the way a digital video can be. Most films are delivered within 5 to 6 weeks.

Yes. All packages include access to your raw, unedited footage, not just the final edited film.

The Corner Slice includes one round of edit notes. The House Special and The Whole Pie include two.

Digital delivery is standard with every package. If you'd like the actual physical film reel your wedding was shot on, it's available as an add-on for $100. A physical reel gives you something a link or hard drive can't: a real, tangible object from your wedding day that doesn't depend on a cloud account or a drive staying intact. It's the same reason people choose Super 8 in the first place, just carried one step further.

Yes. Corner Slice Weddings carries business liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) to your venue if needed.

This hasn't happened on any wedding I've shot. Super 8 is an older format and more delicate than digital, so I take that seriously: cameras are serviced regularly to keep them in top operating condition, and every roll is handled and stored carefully from the moment it's shot to the moment it reaches the lab. In the unlikely event a roll were ever affected by a technical or lab issue, I'd tell you right away and work with you directly on making it right, which could include a partial refund for the affected coverage or additional complimentary coverage at a future date.
